Friday, Jan. 26 marks National Australia Day and Flinders Lane in Stamford is celebrating with some Aussie favorites.
Officially, Australia Day marks the anniversary of the First Fleet of British settlers arriving in Port Jackson Harbour, Sydney in 1788. Unofficially, though, it’s an excuse to party with a gusto that few other nations can match (think Fourth of July, Cinco de Mayo, and Halloween combined).
The Flinders Lane celebration starts at 5 p.m. and features Triple J’s hottest 100 best tracks. In addition to the regular a la carte menu, the Australia Day menu includes sausage rolls, BBQ prawns, bangers & mash, meat pie, lobster Mornay and a kangaroo burger.
The festivities start at 5 p.m. and run until closing. For more information, go to www.flinderslane-nyc.com/location/stamford/ or call the restaurant at 203-323-3137.
